What kgautney doesn't like about The Yellow Deli Rutland, LLC:
Happy Cow pointed me here when I had an hour to kill in Rutland. I ordered vegetable soup that came with a side of bread, after confirming that it was vegan. The soup came out with grated cheese on top and the bread was slathered with butter. The staff were nice and corrected. Be sure to specify to avoid non-vegan additions. All homemade food. Except the chips that come with the sandwich. (Cape Cod brand I think) This is a legit cult so they love telling you about their community. A few different locations. Hand crafted woodwork throughout makes it super cozy. And they make their own soap you can purchase. View all feedback.

You know it's the best place around for lunch when you see 10 people in line for chicken tenders or fried chicken and potato wedges.

read moreThe Yellow Deli in Rutland, Vermont offers a unique dining experience with generous sandwiches, delicious homemade breads, and a welcoming atmosphere. Despite the great food and friendly service, some customers have concerns about the restaurant's ownership by the Twelve Tribes, a religious cult with a controversial history. While some patrons rave about the vegan options and overall dining experience, others question the ethics of supporting a business tied to allegations of child abuse and racism. In a town with limited vegan options, the Yellow Deli stands out for its tasty veggie burgers, homemade bread, and flavorful soups. Whether you're looking for a quick bite or a cozy lunch spot, the Yellow Deli offers a mix of delicious food and a curious backstory that some diners may find off-putting.
