Visited here again with bf, I had the BBQ chicken and he had a mix of chorizo, egg, chips, black pudding and peppers, food ok, but a bit too greasy and the chips were undercooked. I enjoyed a cold cola and him a beer but the bottle of water hadn't been chilled so wasn't enjoyable. Smoking still an issue where people are eating, think it's just a Spanish thing.
The location is good very close to Anis museum, the food is ok, very basic but it does the job, no Cider to my disappointment but they do a reasonable G&T, the service was ok, think some of the staff avoided us as we speak only a tiny bit of Spanish (trying to learn more), enough to get by though with help from Google translate. My main issue was that almost everyone was smoking, and there are no smoking signs everywhere?! I get that smoking is more acceptable here, but not where people are eating, yuk. I didn't visit the toilet, but my bf did, and not great at all, there was some soap though, so that's a bonus I suppose. We will likely visit again, mainly down to location as we're staying further up the hill and it's too much of a trek to walk back up from the Park in the centre, Rute Parque Ntra.
Having visited all the totally underwhelming visits to the local Food and drink Museo my rucksack that I took was still empty of any purchases so we came into Los Claveles for lunch, thankfully has not opted for the menu del dia that they were trying sell on the coach and chose what we wanted from the menu, bought a drink and while it took a long time and service a bit chaotic we got some nice plates of cheese and one of ham, two plates of chips and a chicken escalope which was wafer thin and overcooked the rest was wolfed in minutes We also had to start two rations of Tortillitas de Camarones which were tasty as finger food while we waited
People look very nice, the food is very good, the service was good, it has a good view. Recommended to go to this bar. I I ate fried shrimp and calamari.
