Wow... Excellent food... Excellent service... Great cosy family run restaurant filled with locals.. Good quality for the money. April 2023 Menu of the day was a bargain at 13 euros per person. Good quality food and lovely ethos. Fast and efficient service. Will return again and again.
Very nice restaurant, but that’s pretty much it. Badly staffed kitchen. Long waiting times at the table for pretty bad food.
We went to Restaurante Venegas on our last night in Rute. A family run establishment, with great decor and ambience. I had sea bass with prawns and clams which was delicious. A massive portion size!. My husband had solomillo of pork which again was cooked very well. The daughter tried to speak some English to us which was appreciated although we can speak good Spanish. As with all the bars in Spain the television was on and very loudly and we asked them to turn it down which they did (no one was watching it! . Again, as with other places locally in Rute, apart from one other table we were the only people in the restaurant (it was a Saturday night! . A few people came in to get takeaway bocadillos and pizzas. We also had their salad de casa which was very good (again enormous and a flan for pudding. Not cheap but a good meal at EUR 60. I would return
Suprised at three hot chocolates and one brandy costing €9.40. Nice place but pricey compared to other establishments locally.
Just returned from a wonderful holiday and came across Venegas by accident whilst passing through Rute. 3 generations of us with the only spanish speaker 11 years old. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and assisted greatly by our waitress. The food was outstanding and the only disappointment was finding this the day before returning to England. I would recommend without hesitation.
