A well attended local club, where visitors to the islands can pop in for lunch or dinner among the locals. Prices are very reasonable (tops for steak is about $18). Outdoor eating area. Always improving, its facilities for its members and visitors. Has a courtesy bus if you need one. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Russell Island RSL:
With only two choices for lunch the RSL offered a pick up service, so off we go from the ferry to the club. The fish & chips looked the best and the fish batter was light and well cooked, very tasty and big servings, chips average and the salad made of iceberg lettuce grated cheese, grated carrot sliced with a slice of onion and cucumber all sitting next to each other on the plate was a real blast from the past, but... Good value meal and roast of the day for only $15 and very large portion size. Drinks well priced for an island. Friendly staff. would return if ever on russell island
The meals were amazing for a small bistro they can certainly cook up a great steak, salmon, and Parmy! The Kareoke was fun too!
We had booked a pick-up at 7:30pm with the courtesy bus, but did not have a reservation for dinner. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the kitchen was already closed. However, the staff and a kind patron (who runs a local real estate office) went out of their way to help us when they found out we hadn't eaten. They arranged for a delicious pizza to be delivered to us from the Pizza and Kebab Express, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We had planned to return the next night, but the restaurant was closed due to a COVID case on the island. We are looking forward to visiting the island again at the end of October and will definitely be back then.
The counter staff were too young to take orders, they messed ours up, the steak was thin and tough, and th esaladI could have made better
Over priced beers and tiny awful meals never again! So many better places on russell or other islands
