Agra Cottage - Rushcliffe
Agra Cottage
Description
Agra presents a contrasting dining experience that leaves patrons divided. While some praise it as a local gem with fresh, flavorful dishes and exceptional service, others lament disappointing takeout orders plagued by long waits, cold food, and inconsistencies. Though its menu offers appealing options like the chili paneer and generous portions, many guests felt the quality didn’t match the prices. The ambiance suffers due to crowding from takeaway logistics and lack of proper heating. Ultimately, Agra stands out as a promising choice for dining in, yet merits caution for those considering takeaway.

Oh Agra, we adore you! We have been loyal customers for over a year now. The staff knows us by name and always delivers hot and delicious food right to our door. When we dine in, they are always attentive and remember our preferences. We are grateful for the occasional freebie, although we don't eat vegetable samosas. Their food is amazing, service is brilliant, and prices are reasonable.
We were new in the area and wanted to try out an Indian restaurant, so we booked a table. However, we were surprised to find that the place was quite small and busy with a lot of takeaway orders. The few tables they had were constantly being crowded by delivery riders, making it hard to relax. The heating was off and the door kept opening, letting in cold air. The food was delicious and the portions were generous, but overall the restaurant just didn't seem to function well. However, as a takeaway option, it seemed to be popular.
AMAZING!!! The food was so fresh and hot, the service by the lovely Saif was second to none! Would definelty recommend to anyone looking for a local Indian takeaway...will be returning again very soon. Thank you for a lovely evening
I ordered takeout for 10 people at 6 pm, but it wasn't ready until 6:20. The bill ended up being 30% higher than the prices listed on their outdated website menu. The owner didn't seem to care about the mix-up. While most of the dishes were delicious, the bhajis were disappointingly soggy and burnt.
We ordered takeout early in the evening. The food took nearly two and a half hours to arrive, and it was definitely not worth the wait. The chicken korma seemed like tikka masala diluted with water, and the monkfish Bhuna was bland and lacking flavor. The pasanda had a strange green color, possibly from pistachio nuts, but it was unappetizing. The restaurant has not responded to our emails.
