We had not tasted wines from this D.O., so were looking forward to the opportunity to taste the offerings of one of the prominent producers. We were not disappointed. The tasting room, or bodegas, is in town, on the main road near the highway entrance. We had one glass of verdejo and one of an entry level tempranillo. We ordered a half ration of Iberian ham and another of a hard cheese. The wines were tasty, and they comped us a glass each of their Sauvignon Blanc. Service was quite good and friendly (thanks, Beatriz! . Worth a stop if you go to Rueda to experience its increasingly recognized wines.
It is easy to understand why the Rueda region has become one of the most desired white wines producers in the world. And among those wines, the Bornos is an excellent choice at a very reasonable price. The company has a delightful 'Bodega ' where you can taste and buy their wine, as well as several local products. This Bodega is a must for dry white wine lovers.
We stopped in the little town of Rueda for a wine tasting, just off the main highway. But we found they sell all sorts of local products also. Wine prices very low. And you can get a little something to eat.
One of my favourite wineries in Rueda. I always make a stop to buy their White and red wines from Rueda and Toro Región. Wide variety of White wines. Also you can buy a wine box of 5 o more liters. Gourmet products from Castille Leon in their shop. Very nice people.
A lifelong mandatory stop. attention and treatment, especially marian, the boss, is a wonder. the cheese and the obligatory ham fleas. have a covered terrace perfect to drink something or eat and inside a store with variety of products and enough tables on two floors to be able to sit.
