So to even find a place that serves (openly) ve... read more Anyone traveling or living in Croatia will know its hard to find vegan food, especially anywhere outside Zagreb. So to even find a place that serves (openly) vegan options is fantastic! Most cities won’t even have that and you’ll end up with the same old spinach and potatoes order. Topico is not in any way specialized in vegan food HOWEVER they actually have options! And hey I’ll take that any day. The staff is awesome and the stir fry (which is more like risotto) is great (it’s listed as a started) but we ate it as a main one of the two times we were there. They have other options like salad, tofu, stuffed bell peppers etc which are all good but it’s not mind blowing or anything. But at least you’re ordering a full meal in a restaurant and not trying to solve a puzzle with random starters. Would definitely recommend. And yes... there is vegan desert!

However, i... read more Although Tipico is a restaurant that serves meat and fish, it is one of the few places in Rovinj where you can get good vegetarian and vegan options. However, it is a very busy and popular place so the vegan options can sell out fast. We went early in the evening so fortunately there were plenty of vegan choices. The marinated tofu was delicious, as were the accompanying roast potatoes and salad of thinly sliced carrot, courgette and cucumber topped with walnuts. There was even a vegan pud which I have to say was a bit weird (solid, difficult to cut cake covered in carob) but at least they'd made the effort.
