Great food, great staff, great service. Highly recommended.Went there for yum cha with friends a few times and the food selection is pretty good and most importantly, they are very fresh compared to other yumcha places we have been. Been there for dinner too and they definitely do not disappoint either.Always very welcomed by the owner. What a lad. Really nice guy to chat with and always see him treating all customer... What User doesn't like about Grand Lotus Chinese Restaurant:
We visited for yum cha and during the service, the waitress knocked a drink over the table and onto one of dishes. She then tried to blame us. When we went to pay bill, they charged us for dish that saturated by the drink. They argued and tried to say you ate half. They finally agreed to remove and then decided to mock us in the process. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. View all feedback.
We have takeaway once a week and we were after something different and decided on chinese which we hadnt had for yaers . Thinking of memories of the when we went on family holidays and a feed at the local chinese was a great...treat. Well thats what we got tonight a meal from the but definitely not a great memory. Honey chicken just rubber some of it we couldnt even chew with no extra sauce and nothing else. I suspect frozen battered chicken microwed when order placed and thrown in a bit of honey sauce. Mongolian Lamb again rubber, bits of broccoli all swimming in more sauce than anything else, with rubber consistency . Again pre cooked and microwaved? Special fried rice NOT special steamed rice with a few things thrown in teeny bits of ham, tiny rubber frozen prawns the size of cent from Thailand i suspect, egg, abot bits shallot and strips of chicken and I think pork not sure. Totallu unacceptable awful food in this day and age . DO NOT order its so bad! Gave it one rating as it wouldnt accet none
Overly priced with rubbery food. It's also usually empty. Communicating with the servers is also very difficult
The waitress asleep at the desk should have warned us but still we sat down. The Grand Lotus should be renamed the Grand Failure. We arrived for an o’clock dinner on Saturday night. All the locals were full so we tried the Grand Lotus...which was empty. Yes. No body seated. We should have been smart and not get food but we did. Basic stuff. Prawn Fritters, Steamed Gowgee and Lemon Chicken with rice. Who could ruin that. It’s basic. But it was awful, tasteless and oily. The Gowgee weren’t even homemade. Worst of all the staff were so interested in there social lives they forgot we were there. So we had an empty restaurant, bad food, poor service and it cost us Take my advice. Don’t bother. Go next door. Or just go home. BE WARNED
Judge a yum cha place by a few staples siu mai (pork dim sum) , har gau (prawn dumpling) , BBQ pork bun and egg tart and I have to say it is very impressive that all of them are very good at Grand...Lotus. Pretty consistent every time I go there but decided to leave a review now which they really deserve. Other selections in addition to the ones mentioned above are very tasty and fresh as well. As for dinner, the shredded beef in Peking sauce is to die for with a cold beer and not to forget to mention my personal favourite sweet and sour pork is sensational
We were a family of six who attended Yum Cha for lunch. The restaurant was half full at the time so service should not have a problem, however much of the food we were served was cold or at best warm and the variety of...Yum Cha dishes were limited. With a plethora of very good chinese restaurants, in the Hill Shire, providing excellent Yum Cha dining, the Grand Lotus is not one we will be rushing back to
