Many people in Rouen had used... read more We dined here in the evening at the end of August 2019. We had read the reviews managed to book a table for 4 using rusty French. Many people in Rouen had used a little English with us when we got stuck, but not...here so be prepared! Google translate came in handy for the menu. There is only one cover in the evening most people arrived when the restaurant opened at 7.30pm. That meant that the one waitress was busy for 20 mins before taking our order. The menus are on chalkboards on the walls this means it is easier to change the menu keep it seasonal. I had an aperitif, my other half had half a litre of red wine the teens had lemonade. We each had starters mains but no dessert as we were full. The bill came to 99 Euros pretty good we thought for city centre, well cooked delicious food. We had vegetable tarts/smoked salmon for starters then lamb shank (the best one , guinea fowl, bream and my daughter a large salad with chicken (I think memory fail! . The waitress was pleasant, attentive when needed, prompt polite. The atmosphere was great gentle chat, laughter the background of the kitchen at work. No intrusive music which we liked enormously. To round off a good evening people at the next table started chatting to us thank heavens they spoke good English! . All in all a delightful time.
