Le Maregraphe - Rouen

It was close to our hotel and on the quayside. That is the positive side over and done with. Our initial concern at being served quickly was confirmed when we started on our cold dry mussels. Moules mariniere with the onions dumped on top is a real disappointment. Looks as though they are mass cooked and the flavour dumped on top. Expensive for what is a glorified fast food restaurant.

Decent meal, pizzas, and burgers but key appeal is location, on waterfront, where you can sit outside. Thought rather expensive for what it is.

We wanted to give Maregraphe a try and were first greeted by a bumbling, unclear response to whether we could have a table, have a drink and then have dinner there. Finally, we were given a table outside and served. We were told no pizzas were available and when we ordered mussels were informed that they were finished. In the course of the meal we noticed pizzas were being served to other diners. Other diners (locals) were getting free bread and water with their meals. After dessert the bill arrived at out table without us asking for it. We wanted a coffee before paying. All in all the food was fine but Maregraphe needs to get its act together and tackle the sloppy service.

Always as copyy, good and high quality at the top!! Friendly and smiling staff!
