Short selection of really good products cooked with mastery and a very fresh and unique twist. The dining room personnel was very nice even with our 2 year old who was clearly overexcited after a long trip.Selection could be wider, dining room could be bigger and wines could be less surcharged (typical French, though), but it could then also cost much more. And they have a sister restaurant with 2 Michelin stars. And... View all feedback.
What Aurore Valentin doesn't like about Le 37:
I twice emailed my request for a dinner reservation and received an acknowledgement that I would receive a response shortly. I never received a response which is completely unacceptable. View all feedback.
We had tried to make a reservation at "Gill" for dinner but they completely booked. The hotel recommended Le 37, which is owned by the same person. The meal was outstanding as was the service. We could not have been better pleased. Upon arrival at 7:30, we had the restaurant to ourselves. It started filling up Clyde to 8:00. When we left close to 9:00 there may have been two available. tables. The menu is limited with three starters and three 2nd plates and three desserts. I doubt there were any bad choices. My wife order the fillet and it was cooked exactly as she ordered and a nice side dish of potatoes. I order the fried shrimp first plate and we shared five good size shrimp on greens with a sauce that was very good. I had a lamb shank that was tender I could cut some it with my fork. It may we'll be the best lamb shank I have ever eaten. We had a round chocolate cake with chocolate sauce for dessert. We seldom eat dessert but this was worth the calories. We ordered a Chablis for her and a Bordeaux for me and both were so good we ordered a second glass each. Our bill was a little over 100 euros which we consider reasonable and a good value for the meal and service we enjoyed. Lovely French cafe.
Small menu reflects the care and attention they pay to each dish. Very friendly staff .. good wines... excellent food.
This restaurant is very well run with a short and interesting menu. Reasonable prices considering the quality dinners. Just a true French dining experience. Four different entrees and no disappointments. Make reservations, because it is very popular.
We visited on 4th December with a party of friends. The place is quite small and cosy, and the food was excellent - very original dishes, carefully prepared. The service was competent, the waiters very pleasant, and the house wine very good value. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our evening here and I would highly recommend it.
I was lucky to meet a local French who recommended me this restaurant and went there with me on my last day in France - it's a lot better and easier than me going alone as he speaks French. We ordered steak and fish and some entrees to share. The steak is excellent - the quality of the meat is really good. The price is very reasonable. The place is cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended to anyone in Rouen, local or visitors.
