We had a few problems finding the restaurant but when we did find it the wait was worth it. This is a busy bistro but with lots of atmosphere and efficient service. Well located in the centre of Rouen. The food is interesting with smoked steak being a signature dish. View all feedback.
What Josette Prevost doesn't like about Cancan:
Underwhelming. They were trying hard to be posh but not quite getting there either in the decor (very uncomfortable chairs effectively on the street under a marquee cold as well despite the fact that they had overhead heaters but weren't turned on) or quality of the food. A pleasant welcome and service but the kitchen is less refined than it was, we were disappointed. The sauce to melt the chocolate plate of the crater should not be hot enough, it sank next to it! pineapple dessert looks like a soup of pineapple that is more sweet. Moreover, the velvety of potimarron is served to a barely obvious butternut without counting the lid in butternut, there remains a large amount of vegetable that will be thrown, what a waste! We've made a note to the server that told us that it's a party taken by the leader! It's noted!
Warm setting with tables at different levels. simple, young and dynamic service. wine menu very well provided for all tastes. at table bistro formula or gastro a little more sophisticated. dessert flat entry with restricted choice always good oatmeal. imaginative cuisine, well served with always very neat presentations and sometimes even spectacular times such as smoked tin in the belly in front of you or the cold hot dessert with the carbon ice that nape the table with a surprising mist. perfect cooking.
