I decided to try a different place for breakfast with the opportunity to watch some planes. I checked the website for the opening times, which said 9am with bookings recommended. I called the day before and was told it was okay to just show up. My friend and I arrived at 9:15am, but the Skyways Bar was closed. Two staff members were outside chatting, and when I asked if they were open for breakfast, they rudely said "NO, 10 o'clock" and ignored us. We decided to leave and went to the nearby Harley Cafe at the Welbeck estate instead. It's disappointing that a business would treat potential customers this way. They should learn about customer service from Harley Cafe. I would give this place a negative score if I could.

What a hidden gem in the beautiful countryside of Netherthorpe: The Skyways Bar at Sheffield Aero Club. My husband, a friend, and I visited for a Father's Day meal and were greeted by the fabulous, attentive, and friendly staff - Sue, Tracey, and Gemma. Despite the full restaurant and bar, they made us feel like nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely delicious - we opted for the Sunday Dinner with a choice of pork or beef, and it exceeded our expectations in terms of taste, portion size, and value for money. Booking in advance for Sunday meals is recommended as it tends to get busy. The Skyways Bar has a relaxed atmosphere, a well-stocked bar, and a variety of bar snacks and light bites in addition to full meals. You can choose to dine indoors or al fresco, with the option to watch the planes and other aircraft from the outdoor seating area. It's also a great spot to simply drop by for a drink. The venue is child and dog-friendly, making it a great option for all kinds of visitors. Overall, a fantastic experience - I highly recommend it. 10/10

After calling ahead to confirm that dogs were allowed in the restaurant, we arrived with a group of 8 (including 1 dog) to enjoy Sunday lunch and celebrate a family member's birthday. After about 10-15 minutes of getting drinks and deciding on our meals, we were approached and asked to "do something" about our dog because another customer had complained about allergies. This customer had arrived after us and only noticed the dog later. I believe that it should be up to the individual entering the establishment to determine if the space is suitable for them, not someone else. Luckily, we had not placed our food orders yet. All doors were open in the restaurant, and as someone with allergies and asthma, I understand the importance of allergens. I felt that there was a higher risk of allergic reaction from the dog hair on the carpets than from our small, minimal-shedding dog. I believe a compromise could have been reached, but unfortunately, we felt we had no choice but to leave. I was extremely disappointed with the customer service and how the situation was handled, and can only assume that the complaining customer is a regular at the restaurant.

Great brekkie the other Friday. Staff very friendly. Was our first visit but won't be our last. New cook who made us very welcome. Will be back for evening meal very soon. Great little bar. Looked like nice tables outside which will be great in summer.

Everything was frozen, boil in the bag beef. Nothing had anything flavour, really can’t understand how a carrot can not even taste like a carrot!! If you can’t do it right please don’t do it at all!
