Contribute FeedbackPark View in Swinton showcases a mixed dining experience that highlights both its strengths and weaknesses. While many patrons praise the generous portions and expertly cooked carvery, some recent visitors have encountered service issues, including meal mix-ups and unprofessional responses from staff. The welcoming atmosphere, complete with a play area for children and ample outdoor space, makes it a popular choice for families. Additionally, the venue has successfully hosted special events, garnering commendations for its attentive service and beautifully arranged settings. Despite some criticism, the overall sentiment reflects a restaurant striving to improve and maintain its loyal customer base.
I took my family out for lunch on Sunday. We had a wonderful meal with large portions and the bar staff was excellent. They had a wide variety of drinks to choose from and the kids had plenty of space to play outside. We will definitely be coming back soon.
This carvery is simply the best in the region. While there have been some changes, such as not being able to serve yourself and certain menu items missing (like cauliflower cheese), the price is very reasonable at £7 for a large carvery. The meat is beautifully cooked, with huge Yorkshire puddings, delicious roast potatoes and stuffing, fresh vegetables, and tasty gravy. The manager and staff are lovely, making it a great place to dine. It's unfortunate that some visitors are not appreciative of the fact that the restaurant has recently reopened and may have some teething problems. There is no excuse for shouting and screaming at the manager over a genuine mix-up with meals that she personally apologized for. This behavior is unacceptable.
I recently had Sunday lunch at Park View in Swinton and had a very negative experience. There was a mix up with the meals, with some missing mashed potatoes and others missing roast potatoes. The portion sizes were also inconsistent. When we tried to explain the issue to the landlady, she responded with abuse and shouting in front of other customers. She claimed to have broken her foot the day before and said it was challenging to work in the kitchen. It was clear that working with a broken foot and on crutches was not safe for her or the staff. Another member of staff agreed with us and tried to convince her to address the situation, but she was dismissive and rude. Overall, it was a very disappointing and unprofessional experience.
Booked Christmas dinner, everything apart from the meat was inedible, including the muddy water gravy, everything tasted like it was straight from the freezer NOT FRESH, service was terrible, dropping a fork on my sister without saying as little as a sorry , with the cost at £55pp I definitely won 't be returning as i wouldn 't have even paid £2 for this meal.
I had my wedding reception here recently. The room looked amazing, the food was impeccable, and the staff were so helpful and polite. Michelle done a fantastic job of organising it all so I didn’t have to worry about a thing. Highly recommended for any kind of function
