We was down from York as viking re enactors and this pub was where we drank after a hard days battle. It was so homely and welcoming that we didnt even bother with the other pubs around. One particular lady behind the bar showed us amazing hospitality and does this pub very proud and know that because of her the vikings will be back, but with more vikings. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Ye Old Kings Head:
We were immediately greeted with "don't order food" even though we never asked for food. We had a drink and then had to wait a long time for another drink, despite the pub being almost empty. The bartender sat at another table near us vaping constantly and using bad language while on her phone most of the time, which caused us to leave quickly. The service was disgusting. We visited Battle for three days and had a drink in most of the pubs. This was by far the worst for customer service. Nice pub but two female staff behind the bar were not eve welcoming. Got a much more lovelier welcome in the other pubs
Went in just for a beer whilst we were out shopping very friendlyWould recommend as it’s probably cheaper than most of the pubs in Battle
Lovely pub with a great atmosphere and very capable staff who are always willing to assist, highly recommended!
The most quaint, charismatic little pub My husband and I always make a point to stop by here when we are visiting East Sussex. the lady behind the bar who has been there the last few visits is always so friendly and welcoming, another reason we enjoy it here, and the pub is a host to many of the locals which is statement in itself what a gem this place is. A ‘proper’ of drinks and a lovely little beer garden Helen Chris
