However, recent reviews of the food and service have been mixed. Some customers were disappointed with the lack of authenticity in the Greek dishes, while others found the prices too high for the portion sizes. Despite this, the pub's outdoor area and live music events seem to draw in visitors looking for a lively atmosphere. Overall, the pub's nautical theme and variety of Shep Neame ales provide a unique experience for both locals and tourists alike.
A cosy pub with a limited menu (we had decent burgers, excellent fish and chips and a terrible warm chicken salad whem mentioning that there was a plateful of leaves with a smattering of small pieces of chicken, we were told 'thats how it comes ' . So, come here for a decent beer, a large suntrap of a garden, great fish and chips, substantial burgers but simply terrible salad .
The beer selection was excellent and the location was great, making it a recommendation for a great pint. However, I was hesitant to order food because there were cigarette butts and old sauce packets littered all over the outdoor picnic tables. This made for a less than ideal environment for dining outside.
We visited this pub after hearing there was live music. The music was amazing and the drinks and service were excellent. We will definitely come back next August bank holiday if there is more music.
A bit rough and ready but very friendly. Fairly restricted menu. The portion sizes are on the meagre side. Good location
Disappointed with the overpriced food. We chose the Greek options but we’re disappointed. It came without salads and no chilli sauce, no garlic sauce. Basically a flatbread with a stingy portion of yogurt and some tomatoes with your meat choice. Not good, so unlikely to be going again.
