My family and I went here after experiencing bad customer service at Cafebar and Confiserie. Huge difference! The lady at Diller Schneeballentraume sorry I didn't get her name was super nice and funny. She was glad to answer all our questions and suggested what is...the best flavor to order for my children who didn't like chocolate. She even taught us how to eat it without making a mess. The children loved it. It was... View all feedback.
What Lidia Anaya doesn't like about Diller Schneeballencafe:
Must agree with a previous reviewer...the ideal location, the window display and lure of the entrance make it appealing. Sure...the snowballs or schneeballen are a local delicacy but paying for a piece of bland flavoured cement is not my idea of an enjoyable snackdessert. They...put sugar coating on the top in an attempt to give it some flavour View all feedback.
Other than visiting Jerusalem, this is my new favorite walled city to visit. And of course no visit would be complete without getting one of these delicious desserts. I bought the Carmel one but my new favorite was the cinnamon one. Wish I could legit...make these. So good
Service was outstanding, very helpful. we bought some of the balls to take home and she helped get us the right flavors and packaging
Diller claims to be the originator of the local fried dough snowball know as a Schneeballen. Worth the visit to watch the baker in action. Recommend the original. ;p
This is a lovely place, as soon as we saw it we knew we were going to try it. the staff was friendly and very patient with us as we kept asking about the many options. We loved the coffee and the schneeball was ok,...I'm not saying that other places had better, is just that they were not what we were expecting. We do not regret trying them, this is obviously a must if you're visiting Rothenburg, we were just expecting something a little bit different
It was after noon by now, so when we saw this store with strangelooking confectioneries, we decided to try it out. The store was called Diller Schneeballenträume, and apparently they make a local confection called a schneeballen or snowball. You could watch them make them...in the front window of the place. Dough was flattened out pretty thin, then cut in ribbons most of the way from top to bottom, then the guy picks up the strips, pulls a couple together and makes the rest into a ball shape. He then places this ball into a cup shaped frying utensil and puts it in oil to bake. They offer them in all sorts of flavors and fillings. We only tried the original snowball variety that just has powdered sugar on it. Quite tasty, and it softened nicely in my cup of cappuccino
