Lovely Biergarten in a tranquil setting. However, the man selling Flammkuchen was needlessly rude. My girlfriend asked him (in German) if it was possible to have one with cheese and olives and he curtly replied, too much work , with no sense of humor in his voice. She then ordered one on the menu and went to pay and was told not yet . Then he finished what he was doing and said ok now . To feel that you are inconveni... View all feedback.
This place is down a very steep hill from the old town (and, therefore, a hike back up! by the side of the river. It's got a massive beer garden, with different seating areas and is great if the weather is good. There's a really...good choice of drinks and some basic food (which we didn't try . If you're at the camp site, it's definitely worth a visit, as it's on the same level and probably only a 10 min walk away!
Although we loved staying within the walled city of Rothenburg, a lovely summer morning beckoned us to take a walk outside the walls. Leaving from the Castle Gate, we ventured down the hill, over the covered pedestrian bridge and turned right. There's a wonderful footpath...so no walking on the road required. Lo and behold, we came upon Unter den Linden, a lovely, locals bier garden. In Germany, morning time is not too early for a delicious bier. The lovely woman working behind the counter couldn't be nicer. It was shady and cool under the trees and the bier was just wonderful. Highly recommend for those travelers wanting a quieter, less crowded experience than the walled city and perhaps a little exercise to boot. Warning the walk back into Rothenburg is a bit uphill, but totally worth it.
Here twice for a snack with the youngs. they were very friendly and helpful. eating was good, beer was good, and the environment was quiet. great place!
Beautiful beer garden along the tauber, easy to eat and drinks, relaxed seating and space for children to play in the garden or at the riverside. flow is very flat here
