I always enjoy coming here. The atmosphere is cozy, the service is good. The papadum as an appetizer is delicious, and no main course has ever disappointed me. And the mango lassi—top-notch!

This review is based on a very recent and extremely unprofessional experience with the owner of the so-called “most famous and best Indian restaurant in Rostock.” Last week, a prestigious welcome event for Indian students was organized jointly by the University of Rostock and the Embassy of India, Berlin, here in Rostock. The restaurant owner was officially contacted for catering for this high-profile event involving university authorities and embassy officials. Yes, there were last-minute adjustments to the number of attendees, as often happens with large academic and diplomatic events. However, the final changes were communicated clearly on the evening before the event. Despite this, on the morning of the event, the restaurant owner unilaterally canceled the entire food order—without any prior notice. We only found out after calling the restaurant ourselves. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable, especially for an event of this scale and importance. Canceling catering at the last moment, without communication, shows a complete lack of responsibility and respect for clients and institutions involved. What is truly disappointing is the arrogant attitude that accompanies this behavior, despite the food being extremely mediocre and far from authentic. Using the label of “Indian cuisine” to mislead people while behaving this irresponsibly is deeply frustrating. I would strongly caution organizers, universities, and anyone planning serious events to think twice before relying on this establishment. Reliability and professionalism matter—especially when representing Indian culture and cuisine.
