The waiteress bought my wife an... read more Went with my family during a cruise stop. Four adults and one child. We aren't difficult customers and just wanted a late lunch. The waiteress bought my wife and sister-in-law the incorrect dish (wrong type of potato). Rather than simply acknowledge the error (which may have been a simple language problem) the waitress audibly sighed, rolled her eyes and stood holding one of the plates impatiently drumming her finger on the counter waiting for her colleague to come over while we just sat there. He then said he would bring the correct dish. My wife and sister-in-law sat waiting for a good 15 minutes while the rest of us ate our food. When it finally arrived the food was substandard (a microwaved baked potato). When it came time to pay they didn't bring an itemized bill (as if to hide something). When we asked for it the reaction was terrible. We realised they had billed us for the incorrect dish and the correct one. The waiter rolled his eyes a pulled a face as we checked the bill. It felt very awkward. I've always considered that good customer service begins when mistakes are made. Rather than apologising for the misunderstanding and politely explaining that a new meal would take time and checking if we really wanted to wait they were rude and doubled-down on the problem before trying to hide the bill! I would recommend future tourists avoid this place.

The restaurant Herr Ober serves a Marlower beer, which we wanted to try. We were seated by a young woman, and shortly after, a young man came and brought the menus. When we said, We 'd like two large Marlower Pilsners, we expected a Of course, it 'll be right there, but instead, we got a The trainee is doing that today, and he rushed off again. A little later, the young woman came and took our order (obviously a trainee? Another couple sat down at the next table and shortly after received their two beers. We said no, he left, and came back with, Or would you like a shot? I made it clear to him that all I wanted from him was peace and quiet. We ordered two more beers and paid the entire bill without a discount from the house and, of course, without a tip. Conclusion: Never again!
