There were glasses on the table when we sat d... read more Was our first time eating there so we hadn’t a clue how to order food. Nothing explained to us when we got seated. There were glasses on the table when we sat down and not once did it get cleaned. Table was sticky, menus greasy. Glasses were Filthy and came with a cheap shade of Nelson red lipstick……Asked for clean ones and they came with even more lipstick. I had to clean them myself at the help yourselves to cutlery, napkins and everything else station. Food arrived in dribs and drabs by a convoy of expressionless, vacant looking waiting on staff. Never once did we get a check back from any of them. I don’t think we actually saw one again. They’ve not been recruited for personalities that’s for sure. The place is messy, dysfunctional and badly organised. Blokes going the toilet in groups and coming out wiping their noses is a clear sign this venue is being used for drugs. I understand it goes on but this is meant to be a family restaurant so it needs controlling better. I really don’t understand what Greene Kings intention is with this brand but it feels dated and tired. Starters and sides served in cheap red plastic baskets, the whole cycle of helping yourself to cutlery and condiments, the get up and order at the bar….. far too many customers up and down every 5 mins makes it look messier and doesn’t flow well. The good thing about our visit was the exit door behind us and a walk into Barrowford.
