It's some of the workers that make this place worth shopping at. I dealt with two people at this location, specifically that made shopping here worth wild. They went above and beyond what was needed and/or required of them. What Reid F doesn't like about Giant Eagle Supermarket Phone Number, Reservations, Reviews:
Was almost run down by a reckless driver in the parking lot! When I went inside and told them the situation, the manager, who it took 20 minutes to summon, said You will have to call the police and subpoena me to see the footage Worst Giant Eagle In Pittsburgh! UNSAFE! View all feedback.
Their produce department is extremely hit or miss, but more often a miss. Sometimes you can get nice produce but other times the entire selection of a given item will be wilted/rotting on the shelves. This has especially been a problem with iceberg lettuce, and on more than one occasion I've skipped making a recipe that called for parsley because all of the parsley they had on hand was easily 2 days past use. This place really suffers from understaffing, poor produce, and inconsistent inventory. Limited inventory is understandable given the size of the store. There's no self-checkouts and only 6-8 checkout lanes, of which only 2-3 will be open at once. There's no such thing as a quick trip to this store midweek, because there's always other people in the same boat. You'll always see 4-5 people with carts lingering near the 2-3 open checkout lanes. I have no idea why the store management doesn't allot more employee time to the registers, because it's pretty unpleasant waiting 10-15 minutes by the registers every time I stop here to buy groceries. Lots of employers have been using the excuse that nobody wants to work, but my guess is that they're not offering even remotely competitive wages so it's no wonder they have a hiring sign up 24/7 yet always seem short staffed. Most of the non-management floor staff I've met have been very kind and helpful which is a plus, but I only shop here when i need a quick one stop shop because their prices are also pretty high. Prices aren't as high as other Giant Eagle stores further into the city, but deals are definitely hard to come by here. Also, please stock Teddy creamy peanut butter! You've had their crunchy peanut butter for months but not the creamy. The only other option for 100% natural peanut butter without added oils is a higher end organic brand in a small jar with a unit price something like 2x the cost of any other store's natural smooth peanut butter 4/27/24 update- They had 4 bags of Fuji apples, I wanted to purchase one but checked them first and found that all of them had at least one apple starting to rot inside the bag. Their entire parsley selection was wilted and discoloured/slimy, and then I picked up some blueberries that were on sale and saw a moldy blueberry in the container. Stay away for produce besides bananas honestly
This place is depressing and awful. I just came in to get some produce and ended up just getting berated by Mary Jo (one of the elderly cashiers at the check out just because I asked how to sign up for the rewards card. After this she proceeded to fling my groceries down the belt and make someone else bag my stuff. (It was only a few things so I don’t understand why she couldn’t do it herself? I didn’t make a scene I just paid for my stuff and left but I could still hear her talking about me on the way out. Does anyone manage this place? Is there no discipline for the way the employees behave? Not interested in going back to any giant eagle after this. They can’t compete with bigger stores and it’s no wonder why. Between high prices and the worst service I’ve ever experienced I hope this company just sinks. Especially if it’s self entitled people like that who are employed here. That behavior reflects perfectly on the people who manage the place. A person I assume was a manager had grayish hair and a goatee was being asked a question by an employee and he just grunted and rolled his eyes at her. Giant Eagle is a mess and the people in charge need to wake up and do some work. Especially with the woman on register.
Quick trip only had 2 cashiers open, but not to many customers.

They went above and beyond what was needed and/or required of them. My only concern is that I was told by one of the workers that I needed to shop at a larger store in order to get items listed in the advertisement on sale. How would a customer know that they could not obtain sale items listed in the advertisement until they got there, on the first day of the sale, ten minutes after the doors opened?
Thanks for the service. To all you cashiers and workers you've been a very blessed help during the crisis that we have thank you for all your support
