They offer a modern interpretation of traditional Sicilian dishes (the dessert “spaghetti alla carbonara” as a new version of the classical cannolo is unbelievable). Last but not least, the service is irreproachable and extremely professional. Definitely recommended.

We booked a table at 8pm on a Friday in September, and were one of the first groups... read more We were recommended A Cava by the owners of our rental villa near Rosolini. We booked a table at 8pm on a Friday in September, and were one of the first groups to arrive, but by 9.00pm the restaurant was very busy with local family groups. This is a smart restaurant and people dress up to go there. The food was excellent and we could not fault any of the dishes we had ranging from steak, veal carpaccio, grilled octopus and ravioli to local fish pan fried with young asparagus. A nice bottle of Alastra Sicilian white reasonably priced at €20 a bottle. The desert menu is a novelty with lasagne ai ricotta, spaghetti alla carbonara etc...but all are sweets dressed up to look like their savory namesakes. I mentioned Excellent Service as the English speaking lead waitress kept an eye on our table and when one main course arrived later than the other five, and again with the dessert she quickly spotted it and sent the younger waiting staff back to the kitchen to find the missing meal. A three course meal for six with 4 beers, a bottle of wine and a bottle of prosecco cost us €245. Not cheap but great quality, ambience and service for a birthday celebration.
