On Saturday for lunch. Service was very good and food was very nice, highly recommended as traditional German cuisine. Happy to go back in the future.

What happened to this place? We ate here last year. a great building (which has not changed), employees wear traditional local costume, efficient service, good food and a beautiful atmosphere. at our visit recently, apart from the building and the menu, this would have been a completely different restaurant. the service was not friendly, and 2 of the meals were unusable: we would not go back sadly...
Upon entering this restaurant if you are a person of over 50 you will notice an amazing similarity to an old British railway station waiting room. The mixture of green paint looks like something out of the late 50’s. The furniture I suspect also comes from around this era. The service is fast and friendly and on looking at the menu we were relatively surpassed at the prices as it was not expensive at all. There is a very good choice although most of it was what is known as Hausmannskost here. Basically it is good plane fare or home cooking. Everything is cooked fresh and the meals were well presented and well cooked. They even have the normally Austrian speciality of Backhendl a deep fried chicken in breadcrumbs. There is outside seating available as long as you don’t mind the traffic going by. This however varies at different times of the day. Having been at this restaurant at various times and on numerous occasions we personally found that an evening meal in summer was best, but that may have just been for us. Some people like places to be a bit busier or at least more active. Having said that there is normally quite a lot going on here and the restaurant is situated in the town centre. It is always worth dropping in here if you have the time and need to eat something rather than fast food.
