Hobson - Rosebud
Hobson
Description
The Holy Bean offers a unique dining experience, featuring a separate vegan menu, though some diners lamented high prices and small portions compared to the meat options. While the ambiance and service received high praise, consistency in food quality and availability of vegan options raised concerns among patrons. Service issues, ranging from slow food delivery to frustrating noise levels, detracted from the overall enjoyment for many. Despite the shortcomings, there were standout dishes and excellent cocktails, indicating potential for improvement. Overall, the restaurant presents a delightful atmosphere, but diners may wish to manage their expectations.

Feedback
The restaurant uses an online platform for ordering, and dishes that are gluten-free are clearly labeled. The waitstaff is extremely helpful and attentive.
The restaurant has a great atmosphere and a beautiful mural. The interior is spacious, and the staff is friendly and accommodating. However, we were disappointed to find that there are no options for vegan children on the menu.
The Holy Bean offers a separate vegan menu, but the prices for the vegan dishes were much higher compared to the meat and dairy options on the main menu. I ordered the Harissa Shaksuka for $22, expecting a generous portion like the omnivore meals we saw being served, but it was disappointingly small. The dish was mostly sauce and oily, so having some rice or grains as a side would have been preferable to just half a piece of bread. My partner opted for the Freekah salad from the omnivore menu, which wasn't on the vegan menu but our waitress mentioned could be made vegan. It was a decent portion and more affordable at $13. The maple dressing was quite sweet as it was pre-mixed, but my partner enjoyed it.
I visited this restaurant for Sunday brunch and was disappointed to find that there were no vegan options available, despite previous reviews stating otherwise. The only choice was to create something from the additional ingredients. The meal was tasty but overpriced and not particularly impressive. I suggest trying other cafes in the area that have a better ambiance and offer actual vegan dishes.
There is no vegan menu, the menu is limited and has no nutritional information and when I asked for help, as I could not say what vegan could be made, they simply told me to look at the menu more and went away while we tried to ask questions about the food, they are a bit rude and did not seem to know the menu at all just left coffee to try somewhere else.
