I'm a big sushi fan and Mitsuba had some signature rolls that are different than any other sushi places I've been. That being said, I tried 3 rolls and they were all just ok. The spicy tuna didn't have a kick and the combo of flavors in the Awesome roll wasn't balanced well. Needed to add a little yum yum sauce and eel sauce to spruce up the rolls a bit. Service was quick but not particularly attentive despite a relatively empty restaurant. However they were open when most other restaurants were not and while I've not raved about the food, it still was a nice meal. Give it a try!
Food did not have much flavor and it did not look fresh. Sushi rolls were loosely rolled. Beef negimaki was tough with no flavor. I know they were understaffed and doing the best they could but the food still has to be good. I was very impressed with the owner's response offering a refund and apologizing for the unsatisfactory meal...I would give them a 2nd chance just because of the way they handled this. I may have caught them on a bad night so I would give it another try.
The fish is fresh the cuts are clean the food is great!I have an allergy to shellfish and they are very attentive to that. I've been coming here for years and have never had a problem with cross-contamination or anything that would have caused my allergy to flare.This is by far my favorite sushi restaurant in all of Central New York
