I also thought the price-performance ratio was reasonable for the location. Of course, you can tell you're in the heart of Rome and near the Colosseum, but the prices were still acceptable in my opinion. The location in a small side street also has its charm. It's pleasant and a bit quieter than sitting directly in the main tourist areas. However, there were significant differences in service. Some waiters were very attentive, friendly, and quick. Others, on the other hand, seemed rather disinterested. With one particular employee, I sometimes had to ask for her attention several times before she even noticed me. I also found the payment process somewhat unpleasant. Although a service charge had already been added, when paying by card, they actively asked for an additional tip. While this is entirely voluntary, the way they approached me felt a bit pushy and slightly marred the otherwise positive impression. Overall, it's a good restaurant with delicious food and a nice atmosphere, which I would still recommend despite the aforementioned criticisms.

A classic example of how restaurants get complacent with the every increasing tourists in Rome. €2 per person cover charge gets u nothing when u're supposed to... read more A classic example of how restaurants get complacent with the every increasing tourists in Rome. €2 per person cover charge gets u nothing when u're supposed to get some stale bread to soak up the sauce from your pasta. They will attempt to upsell €4 focaccia and if u choose not to, you will simply go without any bread, if u're a tourist. But if u're any Italian, u will get the bread basket with the cover charge! They will ask you for tips upon payment when service charge is already included in the price. Have been to Rome almost twenty times over the past years and this practice has become more noticeable of late, fortunately, not so apparent in the other cities. Cacao e Pepe was without much pepper taste and the pasta was too soft, not the normal al dente u would expect in Italy. Polpette sauce tasted straight out from the passata can. Only 1 table was Italian and the rest were all tourists so I would give this a miss. Definitely can be defined as a tourist trap in my opinion

Walked past this nearby restaurant and had the polpette(16 euros). Below average and the sauce tasted like passata without any other seasoning. There's a cover charge of 2 euros per person but no bread was given. The complimentary bread is only provided to Italians, from what I observed. Tourists are asked if they want focacia bread, which costs 4 euros. This seems to be discrimination against tourists.
