This is one of the oldest restaurants in the Jewish ghetto area in a quiet square away from the hustle of the main street. General vibe is friendly but formal, with waiters in full uniform. We came for the artichokes and they were fantastic fried to a crisp (in the best ungreasy way . I also had artichokes with lamb sweetbreads, and my husband had the saltimbocca, with a very good bottle of white from Lazio. Desert was grandpa 's balls (don 't ask! . We liked it all and booked for a second night, asking to eat in the very festive main dining room, rather than one of the quieter side rooms. Everyone was super friendly ; our waiter from the first evening stopping by to say Hello the second night and the hostess greeted us like her long lost friends. We hope to be back soon!
From start to finish this was a delicious dinner all the way around! We started off with the artichoke, and went on to have delicious pastas and an excellent dinner. The ambience is upscale and romantic! The host was so lovely. The entire experience was wonderful! It’s a step above the trattorias and the food is just delicious. You cannot go wrong here at all. We loved our time at Piperno!
We finished the trip in rom with dinner in this beautiful and cozy restaurant in the Jewish ghetto. the restaurant opens around 19:45 clock to dinner and it is a good idea to make an extended reservation. fried artichokes, zucchini flowers are local specialities. the pastas try above all the spaghetti vongole for me. the baked calves, lamb and seafood dishes are made exceptionally delicious. good service and a large selection of wines. must search for place for those who visit rom.
Luxurious!! Benedetta, Pierpaolo, and chef Mario will forever be in our hearts. Truly a privileged place.
The whole experience was truly wonderful. The service was impeccable, the dishes delicious, and the atmosphere very relaxed. We went out with five people. We had the fried fish, then the carbonara and the gnocchi all'amatriciana, following the lamb and sea bream. Everything was truly delicious. The prices are definitely higher than other places in Rome, but it was definitely worth it!
