Truely iconic and original coffee bar. The older gentleman have been working since 1956. But it’s been in the family for 100 years. A real taste of real Rome. Stop in a for an espresso.

I was walking to Campo De Fiori one morning and on the way was looking for a place to have a maritozzi. Every place I passed had none. I was hell bent on finding one. Once at the market, I asked someone and he directed me a block away to this little alley. This little place had 2 elderly men working there and seemed not to speak any English. I easily ordered the maritozzi and a cappuccino and one man brought it to a little table outside where I sat next to a table full of Italian women. I listened to them talk…. not knowing anything they were saying….and enjoyed every minute while I had breakfast. When I was done I told the man il conto and he told me the amount of my bill in Italian. I heard “tre” so I knew I was good if I handed him a 5. Got my change and went on with my day. I just LOVED this place and it’s authenticity. PS….the maritozzi was AMAZING.

I have never been to a place with such exceptional service, price, quality, location, and authenticity. 1 euro latte are you for real?? We got two cappuccinos, bear claw, and ham sandwich for 7.5 euros could not believe it, all for the price of a latte in SF. The clientele is 80% Italian, and it’s fun to watch locals come right to the bar, order espresso in Italian, crush it, and dip out. Really fun. The owners are wonderful, they add subtle touches like cutting sandwich in half so we could both eat. Espresso is still better in SF, this one was slightly too watery, and uses old world beans, but for 1 euro and everything else, it has immense value. Must go

Wow this tiny local place is amazing and my favourite cafe in Rome. Its run by two lovely gentlemen who only speak Italian but that isn't a barrier to receiving excellent service, food and so my friend tells me coffee.

We have been in Italy for three weeks and this is our favorite place for coffee and pastries! It’s where the locals stop and run by two older couples that are very gracious. It’s also the cheapest we have found.
