Initially everything was running... read more I have been visiting this restaurant with my family for almost twenty years however this evening will sadly be our last visit. Initially everything was running smoothly as we sat and ordered starters and mains at the same time. The first issue occurred when the waiter read back our order to us and then stated that he would suggest a focaccia and some grilled vegetables to start. Nobody in my party responded as we had already made our orders. We became slightly more concerned when this food was brought to the table unprompted and again unordered. One member of my party attempted to order the sea bass but at the suggestion of this waiter was directed to order the sea bream as the sea bass would be too large for one person. When the sea bream arrived it was the entire fish which as of 6/08/2023 retail price costs less that 20€ for 1kg. Image attached. When the bill arrived the restaurant charged 81€ for this fish. We discussed with the management that this was incredibly expensive for sea bream, and that it was almost three times as expensive as the most expensive dish on the menu. we proceeded to challenge the management and they proceeded to lie about the cost of the fish. As a member of an EU island nation, with knowledge of the cost of fresh fish, I know the cost charged for this fish is a lie. The management (under the assumption we did not speak Italian) just wanted us to go away. Let me makes this clear in no uncertain terms, THIS PLACE SCAMS CUSTOMERS. DO NOT GO HERE, if you are a solo female party, speak any language other than Italian or are a tourist. The management additionally refused to show us any menu with the prices on it, stating that we had already paid, and we had to force the staff to provide us with an itemised bill, as the refused to do so. I again state, DO NOT GO HERE. Additionally I want to say that I have had some bad experiences in restaurants before but this is the very first time I have ever been so appalled at a restaurant’s behaviour that I have posted a review.
