Whether you come as a family, in couples or in a group of friends Bubi’s Restaurant is the place for you. Just a few steps away from the famous Piazza del Popolo and right in front of the Explora Children Museum, this modern Trattoria is set in a quiet side street where you won’t even have parking problems. Nicola, the young and casual owner, will welcome you in a friendly and relaxing atmosphere supported with great professionalism by the restaurant staff. On these hot summer Roman evenings you will have the opportunity to choose to sit outdoors under a lovely pergola but if you will prefer to stay inside you will not be disappointed by the environment which is both informal and elegant. The rooms are furnished in the delicate tones of green sage with touches of red and white and the fairy lights diffuse soft and subdued lighting...the open kitchen is the final nice touch. The first delicacy you won’t be able to resist is a crunchy and fluffy focaccia, strictly homemade, which comes as soon as you’re seated...its lightly salted dough enriched with a moving Parmigiano Reggiano crust will instantly shutter all your good diet purposes. The menu is a good compromise between traditional Italian and fine international cuisine with an eye towards vegan dishes. The Sorrentina Eggplant Roulade filled with a creamy Bufala mozzarella on a bed of fresh pachino and basil sauce and the bucket of Fried Anchovies served with a smooth avocado sauce will really win you over at first taste. Among the first courses Spaghetti De Cecco with shelled clams and mullet roe is really noteworthy but the Frascarello Fresco with cacio, pepper and cherry tomatoes turns out to be a real explosion of flavors and a feast for the palate. But the real ace in the hole is the Roastbeef served with a hot sauce and a velvety potato puré....all made even better thanks to the kindness of the waiter who will be more than happy to bring you an extra jug of sauce. If you’re going to be good you can always fall back on the Tris di Tonno with sesame, poppy seeds and Bronte pistachio grain or the Galletto Arrosto, a roasted cockerel, free range and antibiotic free served with diced new potatoes and I promise that you will not regret that amazing roastbeef bread-dipping! And as Nora Ephron said “Remember that you can order more than one dessert”...so....come on...don’t be shy and ask for the classic Tiramisù or the Semifreddo al Pistacchio with chocolate chips and caramello sauce or maybe the Millefeuille with Cream Chantilly or the Tarte Tatin with apples and homemade vanilla ice cream. Assorted the wine list and interesting the choice of craft beers. To conclude I think that Bubi’s Reastaurant really lives up to the expectations not to mention the price which, compared to the quality of the raw ingredients, makes it really competitive from several perspectives.
