Our first dinner in Rome at Ristorante Archimede. We started off with an appetizer plate of calamari fritti's. Their calamari absolutely melted in your mouth. I'm not one who enjoys chewing on rubber bands lol, again this was the best ever! Next was a Sinistra Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe which I swapped with Greg who ordered ravioli di ricotta romana e spinaci al burro e salvia. I tried to order a bottle of cabernet sauvignon only to get a look lol. I then asked what wines they have. The response was Red or white!!! I said I'll have red. It like everything else was delicious.

What ever happened to Archimede? When once it was a delight of rather reserved elegance, and we've been dining here during the last twenty years always making a point of booking at least once per trip! it now serves a lazy menu by some sarcastic even hostile staff. We guess they must be fed up with tourists. Never again.

Two couples went to this restaurant on a recent visit to Rome. We were greeted cordially but could tell there was a lot going on for a Monday night. After our orders were placed and wine poured is when it started going downhill. The husband of the other couple had his steak brought out it was not hot. His wife next had her salad brought out. Twenty minutes later my fish dish was served. At this point it was forty minutes after our orders had been taken. My wife’s dinner never was served. The waiter said they had two large parties and the kitchen was backed up. My wife shared the meal with the other person at the table and with me. After an hour they brought out my wife’s dinner but we did not accept it and sent it back. There are too many other great restaurants in Rome to go to than waste your time at Archemedies. When we got our bill they had charged us one euro for still water, one euro for bread and one euro each for folded cloth napkins. The management team needs to go back to school on how to run a restaurant and please your customers. And my sea bass dinner was the worst sea bass I’ve had. It think it had been left under a warming light for 30 minutes
