Pasta was huge so if you are hungry a good place. Couldn’t eat all of it and left without dessert. Restaurant was full of Italians and no tourists. Pasta was nice without being special.

My husband had steak which was very tender and flavoursome , I had the aubergine parmigiana- so good.

To... read more As a university department chair, I hosted a group of 7 for dinner. Obviously, the waiters didn 't that, but simply being a woman host attracted their scorn. To start, I ordered a bottle of wine, after consulting with a waiter, who then presented it to the most physically imposing of two men in the group; he redirected the waiter to me. We all saw the waiter raise his eyebrows dubiously. He then poured my glass without showing the bottle and scoffed when I asked to see the label. Despite all signs that I was the host- (I subsequently ordered two bottle of another wine and also requested the check – the waiter presented the bill to that same man in our group, who once again redirected him to me. The waiter then sneered to this man, referring to me: Oh, the big boss. This was actually insulting (emasculating) to my guest as well as to me. What if I were simply a generous woman hosting friends or friends? No woman hosting should receive this hostile treatment. The meal was okay, but even if it had been wonderful, I would never, ever go back. Italian men are definitely more behind when it comes to women, but this was simply bad and unprofessional behavior that upset everyone in my group.

Ou... read more An excellent restaurant we found by accident when just wandering about. It’s old fashioned in the best of the word with proper waiters and courteous service. Our waiter recommended the pasta with mushrooms for me and it was very good. The portions are large with excellent wine by the glass. It was also full of locals. The price was less than that which we paid elsewhere. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Rome.

When once it was a delight of rather reserved elegance, and we've been dining here during the last twenty years always making a point of booking at least once per trip! it now serves a lazy menu by some sarcastic even hostile staff. We guess they must be fed up with tourists. Never again.
