Reviews summary
An inviting breakfast destination acclaimed for inventive omelettes, stuffed French toast, pecan waffles, and house cinnamon rolls, with unlimited coffee refills and attentive, quick service. Diners praise a broad menu, cozy country charm, reasonable prices and a tourist-friendly downtown outpost serving classic Chicago hot dogs amid nostalgic memorabilia. While many meals arrive promptly and delight, occasional reports cite inconsistent presentation and rare stale or burnt items—suggesting solid value overall but some variability in execution.

I really adore this restaurant! It’s my all-time favorite place for breakfast. The prices are quite reasonable, the staff is friendly, and the service is consistently excellent. The food is fantastic; I highly recommend the stuffed French toast, pecan waffle, and chilaquiles, along with other wonderful dishes. Their coffee is great too, and they keep it flowing—only charging for the first cup, with refills being free... View all feedback.
What Paige Mews dislikes about Egg'lectic:
My friend and I were taken aback when our orders arrived; they were nothing like what we had requested. I ordered the cinnamon roll French toast, which was not only small but also burnt, while my friend got a fruit cup that contained old, stale fruit on a plate. The presentation of the food was comically poor, and yet they had the nerve to charge high prices for it. I've attached pictures of the awful food for refere... View all feedback.

This restaurant is truly a gem! I've visited several times, and both the food and service have consistently impressed me. Their homemade cinnamon rolls are simply amazing—truly the best I’ve ever tasted! The wraps and omelets are fantastic too. You really can’t go wrong here. The cozy country atmosphere, combined with outstanding food at an even better price, makes it a must-visit!
Great service, good food, charming atmosphere, large portions. Extensive menu. Must try!
This is a fantastic breakfast spot. Everything I've tried here has been excellent. The omelets, skillets, Benedicts, and pancakes were all outstanding. The waitstaff was attentive, and our food arrived swiftly from the kitchen—usually within 5 to 10 minutes of ordering. I highly recommend this place to anyone in Schaumburg and the surrounding areas.
Portillo's is one of several dining establishments located at the intersection of W. Ontario and N. Clark in the heart of Chicago. Situated just across the street from the iconic 50-year-old McDonald's and Hard Rock Cafe, Portillo's offers a diverse menu, ample seating, and quick service. I opted for a loaded Jumbo dog, and it met my expectations—a fast and satisfying meal. The restaurant features some neat memorabilia from the Prohibition era and a unique outdoor area, though it's styled in a faux decor. It's a great spot for tourists, conveniently located along the hop-on hop-off bus route.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is clean, and the prices are reasonable for the generous portions you receive.

The presentation of the food was comically poor, and yet they had the nerve to charge high prices for it. I've attached pictures of the awful food for reference! I highly recommend avoiding this place—save both your money and your time.

Egg’lectic is a fantastic spot to enjoy a meal! I visited on a Sunday morning, and it was pleasantly uncrowded with no wait time. The menu offered delicious options. I requested extra whipped cream for my waffle, and they generously brought me almost a soup cup full! The sausage patties and eggs were tasty, and the fruit was fresh, not slimy. Christian, our server, was undoubtedly the highlight—attentive without being overbearing, genuinely ensuring we had everything we needed and were satisfied. Thanks to him, this experience earns a full five stars.
