I truly enjoy the atmosphere, food, and service at this restaurant. I visit about twice a month and really value the consistent experience they provide. Even though the chef has moved on, I'm glad to see that Linda is still there! Some of my favorite dishes include the filet, fried catfish and shrimp, Cajun shrimp, chicken fried steak, onion rings, grits, and fried okra. There are so many great options, but these are definitely my top picks. The combination of Cajun shrimp with Parmesan and Gruyère grits is absolutely incredible!
Yelp describes this place as a burger spot, and while they do serve burgers, the Southern food is truly excellent. Be sure to ask about the daily specials. If you're seeking low-calorie options, this may not be the right place for you, but if you're in the mood for some delicious Southern cooking, this is definitely the spot to try.
I had the best fresh, homemade pig skins ever! The Cajun BBQ shrimp was fantastic, served alongside creamy cheese grits, and the fried okra was almost better than my mom's! I'm definitely planning to return frequently. This restaurant has a rich history—it's the site where Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt famously came to bear hunt in 1902, and there's a historical landmark right outside the door. Situated in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, it's a tranquil and charming little country store that was renovated about two years ago while preserving its rustic, homey feel. You won’t regret stopping by!
They also serve the best pork rinds I've ever tried; I opted for the barbecue flavor and loved them. Additionally, their salsa, which features chunks of peach, was delightful. My sister even gifted me some for Christmas. The staff were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the overall experience. This little store has a charming, nostalgic feel that reminds me of the days when small-town general stores were more appreciated. It’s disheartening to see such places fade away.
Our drinks were served in charming mason jars, and while there was a slight wait for our food, we appreciated the opportunity to browse and read about the history of the place. It was a lovely way to spend time with family and explore while we waited. My son ordered the shrimp po' boy, declaring it to be nearly as good as the top-rated shrimp po' boy at Doc's Seafood in Orange Beach. My husband enjoyed a fresh, tasty burger, while my daughter opted for the pulled pork plate lunch, which we all found delicious. It came with a side of baked beans that had small bits of burger mixed in, which was a nice touch. My daughter’s boyfriend tried the catfish and mentioned that he enjoyed it as well. Overall, my husband and I are looking forward to visiting again. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a nice getaway!
