Yes, I was there alone, I am a tourist and no friends here to celebrate my birthday with, so I can imagine it was awkward for the staff. But when I told the waiter it was my birthday and I wanted a nice cocktail he looked at me angry. They did make me a pretty good cocktail, but made no effort to make it look nice. Except for the bartender and someone from the band no staff smiled at me or tried to make me feel welcome. I never had that happen in Thailand before.
