Earl's - Rocky Harbour

My husband and I read good reviews and knew people who've been and really enjoyed. We were not at all disappointed. We were seated promptly and had a pleasant, knowledgeable waitress. I had the one piece fish and chips and my husband had salmon. Both meals were delicious

We spent a week in St Johns eating at fancy places with high priced menus and out around the shore looking for solid, good food finding a few places with extremely limited menus and/or a lot of fried. Earle's has an extensive menu of locally available food, perfectly cooked, and unpretentious. And they had fresh bakeapple pie warm from the oven. The fish dishes were as good as those we ate at the Fish Exchange in downtown StJ. Bravo!

Trip advisor led us to the right conclusion because the results there were variable. The explanation is that this is the family place both in the menu and customer base, so if you come here for that, you will not be disappointed. No wonder it is in first place. The wife missed this and ordered scallops and was quite disappointed. I took a chance and ordered my first moose pizza, and was quite pleased. There was plenty moose in there. But I had no meaty flavor to deal with, only sweet and slightly spicy. The waitress was right, the medium pizza was much too much for one person.

Had the Moosemeat burger and bacon wrapped scallops. Both were excellent. The meat was delicious and the scallops were fresh. The staff were very pleasant and the owner even helped us pick out some NL jam that is canned in house. The service was quick appetizers came quick, with enough time to thoroughly enjoy, then the main came shortly after.

Ate here twice and enjoyed both very much. The pizza was enormous and the moose meat very tasty. An eclectic menu served by friendly helpful staff.
