I placed a sizable takeaway order, and two large boxes were brought out to my car. You rarely encounter service like that these days. There was an abundance of food, all of it delicious. The staff truly cares about both their food and their service.

I’ve visited this restaurant four times now, and I've always been greeted with a smile. I appreciate that you can request a cut of meat and watch it being sliced right in front of you, ensuring you get exactly what you ordered. The sides are fantastic, especially the stewed cabbage, which has a nice kick to it. I enjoy spicy food, but be warned that the spice level isn't indicated. The customer service at this Rockwall location is excellent, from the slicers to the cashier, and especially the dining room staff who keep things tidy and make sure the pickles and onions are fresh. Oh, and the restrooms are large and clean, which is a definite plus!

I was very disappointed during my recent visit. The cashier overcharged me for a plate when I only ordered a meat-only entree. While I noticed the error and had it corrected, they don’t provide receipts by default, so be careful. My wife ordered a three-meat plate and a soft drink. Unfortunately, the brisket was dry, tough, and overcooked. I ordered a full rack of ribs for $28.99, along with a cup of water. This should have included at least 12 ribs with plenty of meat. In the past, I usually had leftovers, but this time there were only 10 ribs on my plate, and several were quite short. When I brought this issue to the attention of the manager, he acknowledged that there had been some training problems but offered no apology or compensation. If he had simply given me two more ribs, I would have left a five-star review and a glowing recommendation. Instead, I left feeling hungry and disappointed, and I will not be returning to this location.
