Description

With handsome decor and generally friendly staff—highlighted by a standout server named Daniel—this Northern-influenced spot serves tacos, ropa vieja and comforting sides like black beans, rice and fried plantains. Reviews are mixed: some diners rave about flavorful plates and attentive service, while others report over-sweet salsas, bland sides, slow or chaotic service, cleanliness lapses and even illness. Management inconsistency and order problems have frustrated guests, yet many still find it worth trying for bold, comforting dishes.

The server was very friendly. The food took a while to come out and one of the dishes was wrong. It was ordered correctly. Our server came back and still did not understand what my family member wanted. She said it would take 20 minutes to redo. Someone else came and finally got the correct dish but the main ingredient which he really wanted on it was missing. All of the other dishes were fine. It will be quite a while for us to return since there are so many excellent restaurants that are very similar.

This restaurant does not serve authentic Colombian or Mexican cuisine; it features Northern food instead! I can't understand why Northern chefs feel the need to add sugar to everything. Salsa shouldn't taste sweet, and neither should poblano sauce! I won't be returning here. This place misrepresents its offerings and is ruining the essence of South-of-the-Border dishes. On a positive note, my server was friendly, and the atmosphere was pleasant. However, please stop adding sugar and compromising authentic flavors!

The staff were friendly, and the decor of the restaurant was beautiful. However, the food was just okay; it really needed more seasoning. The salsa tasted sweet and didn't quite resemble traditional salsa. I ordered the ropa vieja, which came with black beans that seemed completely bland. My husband's meal was somewhat better, but overall, we might return to give it another shot, although we're not in a hurry.

Kid-friendliness: The kids' menu was impressive, featuring a wonderful selection and good portion sizes for the price!

What a bad experience. Have been happily eating there since they opened. But lately things have not been good. There was a half eaten piece of candy stuck to the table and waitress blew us off and did nothing. Staff is rude, food has become subpar, and a recent visit ended in me getting ill. Hoping they can figure it out because we used to enjoy it. But will not be going back for a long while.
