The coffee was excellent, but the atmosphere felt a bit unsettling. The seating arrangements were quite cramped, and I found the food prep area to be a little dirtier than I prefer. View all feedback.
Open early, qualitatiw high quality fresh food for a fair price
Best breakfast burger I've ever had! Great combination of meat and salad!
- **Mee Poh** ($10): Well-seasoned al dente noodles served with wontons, fish dumplings, fish balls with roe, bean sprouts, pork mince topped with pork lard, and fried garlic. - **Nasi Tomato Ayam Masak Merah** ($12): Spicy chicken served over rice. - **Chicken Satay** ($15): Five tender chicken skewers marinated in flavorful satay spices, grilled, and served with rice cubes, cucumber, onion, and a generous peanut dipping sauce. - **Yellow Kueh Koo** ($5): A selection of six traditional ang koo kueh with mung bean paste filling. - **Ham Chim Peng (咸煎饼)** ($5): Six pieces of Cantonese fried dough. We were also treated to some pisang goreng (banana fritters), which were priced at $6 for three pieces. While most customers opted for takeout, we decided to dine in. This meant sitting in a warm and humid indoor area beneath ceiling fans. My wife noted that the enticing food aromas and heat reminded her of enjoying street food in Asia. And the food did not disappoint. I particularly enjoyed the nasi tomato with its spicy chicken, while my wife found the mee poh to be quite authentic. The chicken satays were generously sized and came drizzled with plenty of delicious peanut sauce. Occasionally, the meat was a bit dry, but overall, it was definitely tasty, and I would gladly have it again. The smaller dessert and snack items were perfect for sampling. We ended up enjoying our street food haul over a couple of meals since we couldn’t finish everything in one go. From what I understand, these new offerings have been gradually introduced since the café changed ownership a few months ago. Be sure to check their Facebook page for upcoming specials!
