Contribute FeedbackWe arrived at the Rifugio del Pastore at the invitation of some friends. The restaurant is very well located, located a few meters from the central road of the hamlet of Baccinello. The environment is rustic, from country trattoria, just as you would expect, and this represents a first prize. We are warmly welcomed by all staff, and we welcome in the room next to the main one, from which we entered. The appetizers are in nice mix of flavors, even far away from each other, but we started from 'assacking everything, and so it was. For the sea side: sea salad of a 'excellent consistency, tasty at the right point, and then mussels and clams, and a cacciuccata with crispy bread, prawns, totans, other fish, abundant tomato, a really tasty dish, perhaps with a garlic tip more than you would expect. For land appetizers: 5 varieties of croutons, among vegetables, spleen, melted cheeses, with slightly toasted soft bread, and then a mixture of sliced with ham, capocollo, Tuscan salami, seasoned sausage cut in cloves. To follow two cheeses of medium seasoning, a pecorino and a pecorino with nuts, served with abundant honey. In order not to give up anything we also granted excellent Maremma tortelli, with thick puff, slightly larger than the classic ones, filled with traditional ricotta and spinach, served with a good meat ragout. Continue with pizza, which is large and very thin, at first it is slightly crisp. In the various tastes we tasted, including a 'good pizza with truffle, there was a beautiful garnish of tomato and mozzarella. Another pleasant dish. It ends with desserts: a good coconut cheese cake, characterized by a base of crispy biscuit, and unfortunately garnished with too much green coloring, a silky tiramisu to the dish, of medium density and where finally, compared to many others, you feel the presence of mascarpone, and a baked cream served in a glass, perhaps too dense, but still of quality. All homemade desserts. I mean, definitely a place to recommend.
