Despite its closure, the restaurant left a lasting impression with its exquisite dishes and impeccable service. Guests rave about the scallops, duck, and chocolate soufflé, describing each bite as a culinary delight. The tapas menu also receives high praise, with the pork belly being a standout favorite. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for intimate dates or family gatherings, where diners can savor the carefully crafted dishes at a leisurely pace. With friendly staff and a diverse menu, Cocotte promises a dining experience that is both memorable and delightful.
This is a suburban restaurant with a casual fitout but with obvious care in the cooking and presentation of quality ingredients that results in serving fabulous quality meals. We had scallops, crab and truffle risotto (the best risotto I have ever tasted), duck (my wife) and the signature beef cheek and oxtail(me). All of the meals were prepared to perfection and depending on your mood would be the only reason to choose one over the other. I was unable to finish all of the cocotte beef cheeks, but my daughter obliged by finishing the meal. We have been three times now and the food and service have always been excellent. Just a word of warning... this is a restaurant that carefully cooks its food and so it is much slower than a normal bistro style meal that many restaurants serve. Take that mindset to the table, and you are sure to enjoy a relaxed unhurried meal with family or friends.
It's about 20minutes drive from main surfers paradise area therefore the restaurant is not very busy. However, the food and service was amazing! We arrived when kitchen was about to close but they were still happy to serve us. We were enjoying the food and chit chatting, and totally forgot about the time but they did not hurry us to leave at all. We love their scallop, organic crispy pork belly, black truffle spanner crab risotto, steak, chocolate souffle and the pear tarte tin!
We went to this restaurant with our son and his girlfriend on a Saturday night and arrived in the middle of a very heavy rainstorm. Nothing seemed to phase the staff and we ordered our meals and wine. What beautiful food! The mix of French and Japanese was interesting and delicious. The Chef came came out to see us which was very nice and he recommended a dessert which we shared and that also was very delicious. One of the nicest restaurants at the Gold Coast and we will definately return.
All the food was amazing to the last bite. Scallops were delicious. Tried a Japanese wine - Grace. A light and perfect wine to compliment the food. Snapper was cooked to perfection. I selected the Duck and was delighted with presentation and taste...absolutely melted in my mouth. We all had desert - the poached figs. WOW. Simply sensational. A must to visit. (Our second time here)
