Montano's Roanoke

A local favorite of ours for dinners out! We chose Montano's for a delayed Valentines dinner. Also Thursday is wine night! We chose a Malbec from France. Just right. Appetizer was a Mezze Platter with Goat Cheese, olives, hummus pitas, all in ample quantity. My dinner was Chicken Piccatta w/ angel hair. Just right, nice light. My wife had crab cakes w/asparagus. Together with always good service, it made for a great evening out!

On our most recent trip we went for Valentine's and the reservation was chaos. However, at the end of the night, the overall experience was very nice. One of our meals was on the cool side, but was immediately rectified. The togarashi tuna appetizer was phenomenal. Our side salad served with an avocado vinaigrette was very tasty as was the fresh bread with seasoned oil My husband had the stuffed flounder. His dish was exceptional, but a bit small for the price. My dish is not on the current online menu; ahi tuna topped with crab, served with a baked potato and asparagus. The food was awesome, however it came out cool and once rectified the tuna was overcooked The online menu is not up to date. The actual menu is much smaller. The desserts were the highlight of the night, very tasty Overall, our server Zack, was very good. Since it was a very busy night, he did great I would recommend this restaurant if the menu suits you.

Excellent service and very good food. Live jazz on specific nights! Band was great. Ambiance lively and great clientele.
