Waba Grill - Riverside
Waba Grill
Description
Popular for clean, flavorful bowls and attentive staff, this casual grill suits diet-conscious diners — especially those watching sugar and salt. Regulars praise helpful cashiers and quick service, but experiences vary: staff can be distracted, front-line friendliness is inconsistent, advertised opening times may not match reality, and portions or add-ons (avocado) sometimes disappoint. Worth a try for healthy, customizable meals, but expect occasional service and portion inconsistencies.

I visited this restaurant concept for the first time, and I found the cashier to be very helpful in answering my questions about the menu. The food was delicious, and the establishment was clean. However, my only downside was that the other two employees at the front were not very friendly. It seemed like they weren’t too pleased when I asked them questions about the menu, even after I mentioned it was my first visit to WaBa Grill.
I visit this restaurant twice a week, and I've always appreciated the good customer service from the staff. However, today was a disappointing experience. When I stopped by to pick up my food, the lady at the register was engrossed in texting. Despite knowing I was waiting, she finished her text before finally asking if I was ready. When I told her I was there to pick up my order, she went back to her phone and continued texting while logging into the computer to check my name. Throughout the entire exchange, she didn't once look up at me. I ended up sitting down and waiting while she remained focused on her phone. It really felt like my presence was just an interruption during her busy texting session!
It's 10 AM, and the staff won’t open the door. The guy inside sees me waiting but doesn’t let me in. The restaurant claims to be open from Monday to Sunday at 10 AM, but that’s clearly not the case. Please change the sign to show 11 AM instead!
Usually Waba is good but this time the food was just not it. The biggest issue was the avocado. It was practically all brown and too ripe. This wouldn't be an issue if you didn't have to pay extra for it, but since you have to, one would expect it to be fresh and not as if it sat there for a while.
