Very attentive and personable. We were joking around and giving each other a hard time by the end of the meal. We had oysters (amazing! and firecrackers shrimp (good but not great , scallops w/risotto (scallops were huge cooked perfectly , and the chimichurri steak (very good! . We’ll be back!

It was beautifully prepared over a bed of collard greens, along with little red beans and rice. All flavors were perfectly balanced. Such a treat!

We were out with another couple and we each ordered an appetizer to start. Mussels and steak poutine were big hits. I ordered the wild crab risotto, and while I enjoyed it, there wasn't much rice! Lots of other ingredients, would have appreciated and expected more actual risotto. Each couple also shared a dessert, also delicious. Patio is very nice, trains aren't that frequent, so not too disruptive

I've only once had dinner out since May, and... read more I have always loved the Chew Chew but have been sequestering myself in my home and in my office for the most part. I've only once had dinner out since May, and then at someone's invitation. A friend who lives in the northern suburbs met me at my home and we had a wonderful dinner at the Chew Chew. She is a cook (not professionally) and raved about the food, not to mention the service. The noise level was what you would expect in any good dinner restaurant, not quiet, but not loud enough to interfere at all in our conversation. The wait person we had was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We had the Duck Potstickers which were amazing. I've had pot stickers in China and Singapore and lots in the US and they were perfect. Did I say they were perfect? And of course Scott is the perfect host. If you are considering the Chew Chew, don't consider it. Just do it

Scallops and asparagus were perfect, mashed potatos were goodbut needed a little more seasoning for my tastes, the filet mignon though is the reason for the disappointment and nothing I'veseen before. Came as 2 pieces of thin cut meat, maybe 1/4 inch thick each. They looked more like pork chops. I ordered Mediumrare and both were just shy of being well done. Staffing 4/5 Waiter was nice, little weird but I don't have anycomplaint. Cleanliness 5/5 Overall 4/5 Nice place and the food overall was excellent, I was with a party of 8 and my steakwas the only complaint. Would recommend to others.

I ordered the steak sandwich, but I have to admit I've had better for just $8 instead of $18. After we paid the bill, the server didn't come back. Surprisingly, he still ended up with a 28% tip.

Now, in its new spot, the restaurant has significantly improved its indoor and outdoor dining spaces and increased its capacity to serve more guests. It boasts a spacious main floor and a second level to welcome even more diners. There's also a fantastic bar to enjoy while waiting for a table! During our visit with three people, Chew Chew was almost at full capacity, but the staff promptly offered us a choice between two booths. The variety of food and menu options was outstanding, just as we remembered. The service was both polite and efficient. Without a doubt, this is a 5-star restaurant!
