Bistro 72 - Riverhead
Bistro 72
Description
Bistro 72 blends cozy, music-driven vibes with friendly, often attentive staff, a lively bar, good happy hour and generous parking — popular with hotel guests, shoppers and families. Standout dishes include shrimp tacos, bacon-wrapped duck and vegetarian portobello options, while live music and TVs make it a social spot open late. However experiences vary: food flavor and seasoning can be inconsistent, brunch items have been mishandled, service and cleanliness occasionally slip, and non-pork breakfast meat choices are limited. Worth visiting for atmosphere but expect variable execution.

I came late in the evening, traveling for business, and super hungry. Bistro 72 was a couple of minutes away from my hotel and therefore I decided to give it a shot. When super hungry I sometimes order too much food, which was the case here but I have to say both Nachos and Shrimp Tacos were super delicious and I’m happy that I found this hidden gem that is open until 11:00pm! Great for travelers! Cozy atmosphere and great staff, very professional and polite, like it should be!I highly recommend them and would definitely return it back in the area.Great job Bistro 72 ? Parking: Parking right in front of the restaurant.
Fun and tasty restaurant attached to Hotel Indigo. Indoor and outdoor dining options. We started with the pretzel (highly recommend) and had the chicken tacos, chicken sandwich and grilled cheese. Chicken dishes were fantastic while tomato jam was a little heavy on the grilled cheese. Fries were delicious. Service was friendly and attentive.
Tonight the service was very bad as the waitress first brought the wrong drink that I ordered. It took roughly 15 minutes to get the first one again it was wrong. The correct drink came 10 or minutes after that and was not a double. Ordered the bacon wrapped duck which is to die for, but waitress brings food and doesn’t bring silverware. I sat waiting and didn’t see the waitress for 5 minutes I actually had to go ask for silverware. I told the bartender service is not up to par tonight and the waitress got load with me. Bad service is not good for the quality of the Resturant. I will not be eating here again
We stayed overnight at Hotel Indigo and tried this restaurant for the first time. It was a happening spot! Many people were at the bar, enjoying drinks and various games. We enjoyed our meals and the drinks were very good. I had the portabello mushroom sandwich on whole grain bread which was very healthy and satisfying. It was my husband's birthday and he had the lamb and our friends had the chicken and duck. Everyone was happy with their meals and our server was very friendly and accommodating. The musician was excellent as well! I wish I had caught his name. :
