Very good for catering gluten free with no issue. Lovely place, decor and staff. Enjoyed our meal but the only let down was the panacotta which had a strange texture and I wasn't a fan of the flavours. View all feedback.
What Lillie doesn't like about Butler's Pantry At Burley Manor:
We seated ourselves in the bar area since dogs aren't permitted in the restaurant. The starters were tasty, but they felt a bit overpriced for the portion sizes. The main courses were also enjoyable, although they could have been larger. The young staff seemed to be putting in a lot of effort. View all feedback.

Food was ok, not amazing, we both had roast beef, mine had lots of fat and not much meat. Would help to trim the beef before cooking. Husband had something in his pate that got stuck in his tooth! Looked like a tiny piece of bone. The rest of the dinner was tasty with lots of vegetables. Not much of an atmosphere in the room we were seated.
Service could/should be a lot better! Starters: organic spelt mushroom ragout and beetroot chickpea falafel more like a below average/disappointing ‘amuse bouche’. Mains: Fish ok and Lamb rump very good. However, all in all far too expensive for what it is. Shame, as setting and building beautiful.
I think our expectations of Burley exceeded what they had to offer. Given the beautiful building and surrounds we expected good service and quality of food. We were not greeted on arrival and had to figure out where to go after waiting at reception for 10 mins. No reply to the bell. The pil pil (prawn) start was completely tasteless to the point it wasnt worth eating. The mains were good and enjoyable. The service was terrible one staff member asked me what was on a dish like we were playing a guessing game. Of all the staff on shift one seemed to know what she was doing. Every encounter was with a different staff member. No comsistancy. Overall I wouldnt go back. I came away dissapointed. Has so much potential, but feels lack luster. Finally, there was a wedding on, although this shouldnt impede the restaurant experience it may be a contributing factor to our visit.
Service patchy, the full range from very friendly to ‘don’t really care’, all present; food not as good as before. Shame, was a really good restaurant in 2021/22. What’s this obsession to get the tables ready for breakfast when people still having their deserts (and not offering all the tables in the conservatory to dinner guests)?
