This was our first real meal in Peru and an ideal introduction. Not only did we have our classic Peruvian dishes (including Ceviche and Lomo-Salzado) we were also treated with a really interested host who gave us many suggestions to try local specialities as we crossed the country. Also beautiful and quiet as we reached a few tables: exactly what we needed after a long day of sightseeing!

Breathtaking meat and Pisco sours. Nice service and a good selection of drinks. Guinea best in town.

Very nice, cozy little restaurant behind the cathedral when Lima, next to Basilica de San Francisco. Great food from scratches, no half-done bought from grocery stores. Great service, friendly staff, spending time with you to explain what you eat and drink. Very delicious strong Pisco Sour you have Wi-Fi if you need. Absolutely recommended.

Searching for restaurants in the centre of Lima proved to be more difficult than expected and we just fell over Toque Criollo and it's fixed price lunch that was remarkably good value!

Toque Criollo is just opposite the San Francisco Monastery, ideally located for a quick bite or a long leisurely lunch. The staff were very friendly and got us an English menu and someone to explain it and make recommendations. We got a Ravioli in Tomato Sauce, a Fried Cheese starter, Huancayo-style Potatoes, Vegetable-Mayo Stuffed Avocado, a Ceviche. To drink, we ordered three different Pisco cocktails. The food was decent, the Ravioli being the best of the lot. The cocktails were all awesome, particularly the traditional Pisco Sour.
