The food was new to me and something I hadn't tried before. It was tasty and the portions are big. This restaurant was rather small than the rest Lidos and the choices were less. View all feedback.
A buffet restaurant that has now become an institution in Riga, especially the Old Town branch. Servings are large and you can get VERY full even if your budget is below 10 euros. Much like office/institutional food, you will be in line, you pick the dishes you want, and they serve it on to your plate. The selection is varied from all types of meats and side dishes as well as vegetarian and salad options are available. Recommended!
Lido is a Riga institution (with a couple of restaurants) for locals. It is a self service restaurant with typical Latvian food. Prices are decent, the atmosphere apart from the many locals only average. If you want a real taste of Riga this is definitely a good spot. This is then one that has the nicest view and being super centric it's a good alternative to many very touristy spots.
Absolutely love this Lido restaurant. Great location in the centre of old town Riga. Nice terrace out the front in the summer months, but it can be hard to find a table sometimes. The food is great value and delicious, especially the small potatoes! And you can pull your own glass of beer or cider. Plenty of room to sit inside also, with a stylish interior. Love it!!
Unique buffet restaurant with good food. Buffet restaurant with a bit of a unique take on it. Beverage is self service even the beer and wine. The actual food is abit of a mix since salad and dessert are self service and the hot food the staff put on the plate. So you don't really get to put how much you want yourself. Example of that is that you don't really get to much protein for a portion compared to the insane mountain of the sides. The selection is very good though with lots of different options for protein, several sides and also a small salad buffet. Beverages you also have quite a few to choose from all from wine, beers to soft drinks and juices. Just beware that the beer tap is very slow so you have to stand there quite a while to fill you glass full. After you get thru everything you go to the cash register and the staff counts everything and give you the price. Was quite busy when we went there for a lunch on a weekday. Almost completely full everywhere both inside and outside the restaurant, so keep that in mind if you visit.
We loved this concept of Lido restaurant. Basically it’s self serve buffet with various options of food and drinks. The only slightly confusing part is when you’re ordering food, don’t know what to have, and have to act fast. But the chefs were pretty friendly and did recommend us some classics. If you’re tourist and doesn’t want to spend a fortune, try Lido!
