The mother cooks and... read more This trattoria, located down a narrow alley, has an interesting and varied decor. You can order off the menu or request a particular dish. The mother cooks and the daughter serves and suggests menu options. Their specialties are Pugliese recipes and fish. The evening we went there the menu board offered baked swordfish, roast octopus casserole, and talioglini with scampi. There were also meats on the menu. My husband was on a search for scampi so we walked quite a while before discovering this niche restaurant with a friendly black spaniel outside the entrance. It was like entering a local 's house with all the personal knick-knacks and floral arrangements that accumulate after a long time. Inside it was cool and as we were there early for dinner we had time to peruse the menu and look around the room. Our server was very knowledgeable and suggested an appetizer of pureed beans, chicory, garlic and olive oil which was spooned onto rough bread slices. Tasty! A half liter jug of white wine paired well with our first courses: Scampi with talgiolini and oriechetti pasta with fresh-cut pachino cherry tomatoes and sliced basil. Light and refreshing these two choices! The scampi were numerous and were really little lobsters in size. Other, more involved menus could be ordered in advance and eaten in the restaurant or as a carryout. The winter menu offers more oven cooked fish and time consuming sauces for a heavier intake. As we couldn 't eat any more than this, we promised to return for the second course and a dessert on another occasion. The bowl of red cherries was calling out to me as we paid our 30 euros and waddled home.
