We stayed in Middleham for a family Easter break and visited the Richard iii pub for dinner on the first evening. It 's a traditional pub, no frills and caters for local workers and walkers really. The prices aren 't cheap (steak pie chips £15) and we expected good quality pub grub, unfortunately the food was a real let down. Greasy tasting burger, very average chilli and a 'not great ' pizza (cheap meat on the meat-... View all feedback. What User likes about Richard The Third:

read moreThe Richard iii Pub in Middleham offers traditional pub fare but fell short in quality for a family meal, with local workers providing a less than ideal ambiance. The Tack Room also disappointed with food quality despite a lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. On the other hand, the Wensleydale Hotel received high praise for welcoming dogs and providing excellent service and accommodations. The pub at the Tack Room redeemed itself with a classy and delicious lunch experience. Overall, for those looking for quality food and service, the Wensleydale Hotel and Tack Room pub come highly recommended.
Excellent food drink we would definitely recomend to others and return ourselves. Staff and service was great and atmosphere was lovely.
